WOMAN CANDIDATE SUCCESSFUL WIDOW OF FARMER MEMBER fU.P.A—B.v Electric Telegraph —Copyright! SYDNEY. 15th January. By a clear majority. Mrs Mary Quirk, widow of the former member whose death caused the by-election, won the Balmain seat in the Legislative Assembly. Mrs Quirk stood in the interests of the Lang Labour Party. She will be the second woman to sit in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly.
