ELECTRICAL BOWLING DEVICE

IN USE FOR FIRST TIME IN DOMINION For the first time in New Zealand an electrical measuring device is in use. It was conceived by W. J. Blair, a member of the Carlton club who is a mechanician in the Telegraph Department. He took two years to perfect the measure which lights an electric bulb on touching the bowl, and the touch is fine enough for a feather to cause a flash; thus a decision to an infinitesimal part of an inch can be do* cided where an ordinary measure might fail.
