Mr Neil Newman has disclosed that his effort to purchase Ajax has been abandoned, due to the owners setting the price at £50,000 in Australian money. Mr Neil Newman, New York representative of Mr Neil McCarthy, of Los Angeles, announced recently that the latter was attempting to purchase the Australian racehorse Ajax, with the object of taking him to California, and eventually entering the racehorse in the Santa Anita and other races.
