APPEAL FOR PEACE
WORLD DISARAMENT HERR HITLER TO SPEAK LONDON. 21st December. Herr Hitler is expected to make an appeal for disarmament and w'orld peace In a speech to the Reichstag on Slst January. This, military experts in London claim, is the result of the intensification of British and French rearmament. The democracies are making the pace too hot for Germany and her ally, Italy. The predicted appeal by Herr Hitler, it is pointed out, will not be realistic if it does not embrace some working arrangement between Russia and the rest of Europe. The Soviet, with two fronts to defend, is not likely to agree to an armament ratio which does not give it an appreciable margin over Germany. Nor is Britain likely to agree to the Nazi argument that Germany, also with twm fronts to hold, must have the strongest air force in Europe. ADD Empire’s Problems' vbgk
