EXEMPTION OF AMERICAN CITIZENS
FROM BAN ON JEWISH MANAGERS IN BERLIN [C P A -Bv Electric- Tclvitraph -Onuvriebtl (Received 30th December, 9.40 a.m.) BERLIN. 29th December. The United States has sent a Note to the Foreign Office requesting an assurance that American citizens are exempt from the law prohibiting Jews to manage businesses. A message yesterday stated that five days hence all Jews will be excluded from the retail trade, but it is likely that only 700 of the 3700 Jewish retail businesses in Berlin will be taken over by Aryans. Others will close.
