WOMEN’S DIVISION BUSINESS MEETING [From Our Own Correspondent) Mrs L. Inwood presided at the business meeting of the Motueka branch of the W.D.F.U. in the W.D. Hall, and extended a hearty welcome to a new member. A motion of sympathy was passed with Mrs A. Parker in the loss of her brother, members standing in silence as a mark of respect. In connection with the Christmas party at which members’ children had been entertained in the Division Hall the previous Saturday, the president reported that the young folk had enjoyed the games and programme of vocal items, and that after the dispensing of refreshments each child had received a gift from the Chri/tmas tree.
It was intimated that, at a meeting of the Safe Bathing Society, Mrs James had been appointed convener of the committee to undertake refreshments a', the gala on Ist February, in place of Mrs In wood, who was elected secretary to the Society. Mrs Inwood expressed the hope that members would give the convener all assistance possible.
It was decided that a member, now resident in Nelson, who had rendered many services to the Division, be made the recipient of a gift from the branch.
A vote of thanks was accorded the Safe Bathing Society for photograph of the group at the crowning ceremony (Baby Queen Carnival); and Mr H. Stringer was also thanked for gratui-
