Th< men were extensively burnt on th< * r.rms and legs, a good deal of the skir ■ being destroyed. The men were taken across Fovea us Strait by the Rr.kiura, which made tin crossing in the fast time of two hour* 125 minutes. They were admitted tr ; the Southland hospital.
