SLIGHT LEAK DEVELOPS

MAUI POMARE AT LYTTELTON IXlni'oti Press Associaflonl CHRIST CHURCH. 12th December. Because of a slight leak which developed while she was at Apia, the Government motor-ship Maui Pomare, which arrived at Lyttelton this afternoon from Apia and Niue, brought no passengers. She brought a full cargo of more than 9000 cases of bananas, the whole of which is to be discharged at Lyttelton. The cargo is in excellent condition. When asked for particulars of the leak. Captain L. C. Boulton, who is in command of the Maui Pomare. declined to furnish any information. The vessel is to be placed on the slip in Wellington on Thursday for repairs and is to sail on Tuesday for the Islands.
