“THE MESSIAH”

HARMONIC SOCIETY NEXT TUESDAY The booking plans are now open at Begg's for the Harmonic Society’s last 1938 concert to be given next Tuesday, The major portion of the programme will consist of Handel’s immortal “Messiah” in which the solo items will be taken by Miss Jacobs, Mrs P. H. Noble, Mr F. W. Huggins and Captain O. Norris-Hill. A group of songs by George Dyson, “Songs of Courage”, will be given. Two of these will be rendered by the chorus, and one by a quartette. A short work by Schumann will also be performed by the Harmonic Quintet. The latest rehearsals show promise of another good performance by this society, a pleasing feature being the strengthening of the male portion of the choir. As there is always a good attendance at the “Messiah” concert, the early reservation of seats in recommended.
