UFA -By Electric Telegraph —CopyrichtJ (Received 7th December, 1.55 p.m.) LONDON, 6th December. In the House of Commons debate, Mr W. S. Cl use (Lab.) said that if the people were told that Britain was preparing her defences against almost certain attack within perhaps a short period, there would be an outburst of voluntary effort. Sir John Anderson, in reply to the debate, hinted that the registration of property, as well as personnel, may be necessary in future, lie stressed that there was nothing in the scheme suggesting industrial conscription. He added that Sir Auckland Geddes, Director of Recruiting and Minister of National Service in the Great War. had proffered his assistance, which had been gladly accepted. The debate, by arrangement with the | Opposition, was adjourned sine die. |
