THE NATIONAL PARTY
DRIVE BECOMING MORE PRONOUNCED I Uni led Press Association 1 WELLINGTON, This Day. The official report on the meeting of the Dominion Council of the National Party held in Wellington last week states that far from slackening, the national drive is becoming more pronounced. The President, Mr Weston, in his address, after referring to the necessity, admitted by the Government, that expenditure must be reduced, said: “I suppose the danger in New Zealand is that rather than face a reduction in the standard of living they will resort to drastic changes in the economic system.” Members of the Council stressed the necessity for the National Party being organised and prepared to fight an election at short notice, and arrange-, ments were made to carry this into effect.
