PAYMENT IN CASH

MURDER OF DR. VON RATH SALE OF JEWELS AND WORKS OF ART rU.P.A.-Bv Electric Telegraph—Copyright^ BERLIN. 26th November. Jews have been informed that they must pay in cash by 15th December the first 25 per cent, of the fine imposed, following the murder of Dr. von Rath. The Ministry of Economics is opening an office where Jews can sell their jewels and works of art, prices of which are being fixed by aryan experts. The chamber of commerce has a special department which will pay for the articles. It is expected that many Jews must sell their possessions in order to defray their instalments of the indemnity, which must be in cash unless security is given. Jews must defray the cost of liquidating their businesses, and creditors must be paid before the stocks are offered to retail organisations. The police in the principal cities are arranging conducted tours to burn synagogues for the benefit of the Winter Help Fund. Visitors occasionally will be permitted to don rabbinical robes and burlesque Jewish religious observances.
