CAPSIZE OF CAR
MAORI BOY’S DEATH VEHICLE DRIVEN BY UNCLE THE POLICE TAKE ACTION IAURANGA, 26tli November. A Maori boy, Adam Nganno Tutahi, of Maungatapu, was killed last night as a result of the capsize of a motor-car on the Tauranga-le Puke Road, about eight miles from Tauranga. The car was driven by Hughie Ngarino Tutahi, of Mauugatapu, an uncle of the boy. When driving along the Maungatapu Road Tutahi picked up liis three nephews, who were on their way to Hairini. On a bend in the road the car capsized and the occupants were all thrown out. The boy, Adam Tutahi, struck the bitumen with his head and uttered a fracture of the skull, dying almost immediately. The other lads, Tini, aged 11, and Simon, aged nine, and the driver were not injured. The driver was subsequently arrested llughie Ng.irino Tutahi appeared before Mr VV. T. Teascy, J.P., in the Police Court this morning on a charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car. On the application of Sergeant Henderson accused Was remanded, bail being fixed in accused's own recognisance of £IOO and two sureties of £SO each.
