Mr James Fletcher, aged 53, a mining engineer, and his guide, Mr William Hulbert, aged 24, who had been lost in the dense ranges in the vicinity of Lithgow since last week-end, were found alive to-day by police and other searchers, assisted by aeroplanes. Mr Fletcher was in a bad way, but the younger man quickly recovered when given food. The two men went into the bush in search of shale deposits and were found miles off their true course. They had had no food since Tuesday.
