TO PRESERVE DEMOCRACY
EFFORT BY U.S. CATHOLICS TEACHING OF STUDENTS U P A —B.v Electric Telegraph —Copyrightl WASHINGTON, 24th November. The United States’ Catholic hierarchy, under mandate from the Pope, has announced an educational programme to preserve democracy and counteract subversive teachings. This involves the immediate cbmpilement of a series of graded textbooks in order to systematise democratic teachings to 3,000,006 Catholic students. The hope is expressed that such teachings will not be confined to Catholics. A Papal letter last month charged American Catholics to be prepared for "what may be a turning point in the world’s history.”
