TRENTIIAM SCHOLARSHIPS VALUABLE EDUCATION WORK (United Press Association! WELLINGTON. 23rd November. The Trentham scholarship fund, from which over £70.000 has been distributed during the past 20 years in the form of bursaries to children of deceased and disabled soldiers and others who served with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force during the Great War. was wound up at a final meeting of the executive committee to-day. It was stated that 3764 bursaries had been awarded, providing secondary education for 1381 children, with excellent results to the beneficiaries and the community. A sum of £221 10s had been made available during 1939 to enable 21 bursars to complete their studies. Any balance, less administration costs, is to be paid over to the Canteen and Regimental Trust Fund Board.
