CHIANG KAI-SHEK LEAVES BY AIR

The Hankow correspondent of the British United Press says that General Chiang Kai-shek has left Hankow by air for an unknown destination. Madame Chiang accompanied her husband. Five other planes also took off
with other officials. Their destination was not revealed, though it is believed to be either Chungkung or Yunanfu. The Domei News Agency at Shanghai reports that a Japanese motorised column from Whangpei is within four miles and a half of the northern outskirts of Hankow. Reuter’s correspondent reports that explosions are occurring all over the city. ARRIVAL AT CHENGTU HANKOW, 25th October. General Chiang Kai-shek and his wife have arrived at Chengtu.
