IN THREE HOPS
LONDON TO PACIFIC COAST OF CANADA I By Air Mail—From Our Own Correspondent I LONDON. 3rd March. Before very long it should be feasible for ordinary passengers to book j i through by air from London to the ; Pacific Coast of Canada on a three-hop ! journey. For some time the Dominion j air experts have been planning and organising an air service across Canada 1 from East to West, and of course back ! again, in conjunction with the new At- ; lantic air route. Pilots have been trained and made themselves thoroughly familiar with every mile of the long air I trek across the Canadian continent, and j equipment is being carefully prepared for the proposed venture. The air ! service will be in constant touch with j the ground by means of wireless, and ■ all possible precautions will be taken ■ against misnap. Of course all this 1 hinges on the success of the Atlantic j passenger services, but of this there is i now very little doubt indeed. We are gradually and methodically developing I the air services which will knock days ! and weeks off the existing travel schedules. and make the map of the world, for travel purposes, no bigger than in the old coaching days was the map of England.
