It stated: "Membership: We commenced the 1 year with a good membership roll i which continued practically throughout the whole season. "Half-way through the season we lost 1 one of our keenest members in the 1 person of Mr W. Lake; who received an appointment with the Royal Air Force at Wellington. Towards the end of the season we also lost another keen mem- ( bcr. Mr W. Powrie, who received an appointment with the artillery division of the Defence Department at Fort ( Dorset. Wellington. To these two we j offer our congratulations and best wishes. "Vice-presidents: To the vice-presi-dents of the club we offer our warmest j thanks, not only for the donations ol j money and cups, but also for their great interest in the welfare of the 1 club. To Mr Alf Jenkins., of Wellington. we wish to express our appreciation for the willingness he displayed iii coaching our boys at every opportunity he had. Each time he was over here to referee the professional bouts he came down for an hour to the gymnasium to help the amateurs. Due to this a great improvement was noticed in the amateurs last season. To Mr N. Fowler we also wish to express thanks for refereeing the amateur bouts in an efficient manner. To the ladies who helped at the socials, we also desire to express thanks: also to the entire social committee which was appointed to run < the dance at the Lansdowne Hall. To 1 Mr R. To Mr McKenzie, our president and coach, we extend our warmest appreciation of the work he put into the “gym.” throughout the entire season. His energy never waned and right from the commencement of the season to the finish he worked enthusiastically for the furtherance of the club in every way. Towards the end of the season he kept the members together by arranging picnic parties to Haulashore Island. These were very enjoyable functions. To the Harbour Board we extend thanks for their cooperation.. “We have now a very fine gymnasium and it is very pleasing to be able lo start the season with everything in order. This was not acquired w ithout I hard work, and working bees were ' formed to perform the necessary work. We hope to be able to run socials in i our own rooms this year and to derive some funds from such. For this pur- , pose we bought a piano which we think will more than pay for itself.
