The Lion of Amphipolis (Macedonia), which has been restored after lying in fragments for centuries. The restoration is due to the efforts of Mr. Lincoln McVeagh, United States Minister to Greece. It is thought that the lion was originally erected to the fallen in the battle of Amphipoli, 422 B.C.
