LATE MR H. H. EDWARDS
LARGELY ATTENDED FUNERAL The funeral of the late Mr H. H. Edwards took place at Stoke on Saturday and was very largely attended. There was a large representation from the Masonic fraternity, of which deceased was a prominent member. The service at the graveside was conducted by R.W. Bro. W. G. Hilliard. P.D.G.M. (Bishop of Nelson), arid the Rev. W. W. Bedwell, of St. Barnabas’ Church, Stoke. The Bishop also delivered an inspiring address and referred to the great qualities of the deceased. The Masonic service was read by Wor. Bro. P. R. Parker, Wor. Master of Victory, and R.W. Bro. Hilliard also took part. There were many beautiful floral tributes, indicating the respect in which the late Mr Edwards was held. Included among the wreaths were those from all the Masonic Lodges and Chapters in Nelson and Marlborough district, and from the Grand Lodge of New Zealand. The Grand Lodge was represented at the funeral by the Provincial Grand Master of the district, several Past-Provincial Grand Masters, and Grand Lodge officers. The pall-bearers were R.W. Bro. J. L. Ching (Grand Lodge). Wor. Bros. A. E. Davies and E. R. Parker (Nelson Lodge', V.E. Comps. M. J. T. Gustavel and H. J. Brough (Victory Chapter), and Bro. R. A. Craighead (Nelson Prov. R.C. Chapter). A Lodge of Sorrow was held at the Masonic Temple prior to the funeral. Ir.e many letters and telegrams received by deceased’s relatives from all parts of the Dominion indicated the very high esteem in which the late Mr Edwards was held.
