I’OIIARA BRANCH Tiie monthly meeting of flic Pohara branch of the Women’s Institute was held recer.il> with Mrs Budd presiding over a good attendance of members. The president read the motto for the month which was, “A good conscience is a soft pillow." The roll call, "flow can we improve our meetings?” brought forth some helpful suggestions from all members. Mrs Stade. the delegate to the recent half yearly council meeting held cl Richmond, gave a very comprehensive report, at the conclusion of which she was accorded a vote of thanks. The usual mystery parcel was won by Mrs McFarlane A very pretty cushion made by members and competed lor. was won by Mrs Price. The president reminded members of the ba/aar to De held in the Pohara hall on 7th December. All were urged to do their best to make the forthcoming function a success. “A hat trimmed with spring flowers” was the competition for the day, and was won by Mrs Crosdale with Mrs Price second A welcome cup of tea dispensed by the hostesses, Mesdames Thurston and Price, brought a very enjoyable meeting to a close.
