NEW CREW SIGNED ON
MOTOR-VESSEL TORT TAURANGA IBv Telegraph Press Association! AUCKLAND. 19th October. A new crew of nine sailors and three donkey men signed on the intercolonial motor-vessel Port Tauranga to-day, the former crew, which walked off at Tokomaru Bay, having been written off. The vessel leaves to-night for Dargaville and thence Australia. QUESTION IN PARLIAMENT [From Our Own Parliamentary Reporter] WELLINGTON, 19th October. Notice to ask the Minister of Marine (the Hon, P. Fraser) a question arising from an incident at Tokomaru Bay last Friday evening was given by Mr J. Hargest (National. Awarua) in the Plouse of Representatives to-day. The question was: Had the Minister’s attention been drawn to the newspaper account of the action of the crew of the motor-ship Port Tauranga, who walked off, leaving the ship in imminent peril from rising seas, and if so would he take whatever steps were necessary to prevent a recurrence of an action which might result in the loss of a valuable ship?
