PERSONAL ITEMS

The Governor-General (Lord GalWay) and Sir Standish O’Grady Roche were guests at the Commercial Hotel last night. They proceeded to the West Coast to-day.

Mr G S. Hogg, who has been acting Engineer to the Westport Borough Council for the past 18 months, left on Saturday for Takaka, where he will take up a position on the Cobb river scheme. Mr Hogg was the Westport Club’s golf champion last year.

The lion, P. C. Webb arrived in Nelsoh from Wellington at the week-end and this morning left for the West Coast, where he will escort the Gov-ernor-General (Lord Galway) through the mining areas.
