MISHAP TO STEAMER FIONA

UNSUCCESSFUL EFFORT TO RE-FLOAT (United Press Association—'By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) SUVA, 24th November. With the aid' of three of the Sugar Company’s tugs, the steamer Fiona, which stranded on a reef in the Suva passage, started to move at 12.35 p.m. and it was thought that she was coming off, but although she moved some distance, she was still hard and fast on the reef when the tide commenced falling.

FURTHER ATTEMPT SUCCESSFUL (Received 25th November, 10.25 a.m.) SUVA, This Day. The Fiona was refloated at high tide and anchored in the harbour. She is believed to be undamaged.
