SITUATION IN PALESTINE REPORTED ARMISTICE PROCLAMATION TO BE ISSUED BY HIGHER ARAB COMMITTEE (United Presa Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, 7th October. The “Manchester Guardian's” Jerusalem correspondent says it is reliably reported that tlie higher Arab Committee’s armistice proclamation, arising from the Arab King’s mediation, will be issued within twenty-four hours. The King approved of the text, yesterday, but Jassim Pasha al Hashimi, Iraq’s* premier, suggested a modification, hence the slight delay. It is understood that the proclamation appeals for an armistice only, after which the Arabs will await some indication of Britain’s “good intention” for a final settlement.
