INCREASE IN TRAFFIC

RAILWAYS IN BRITAIN (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, sth October. Railway traffic figures published today show that passenger journeys made on British railways during the first six months of the year, but excluding season ticket-holders, increased. compared with the corresponding period of last year, by 18,469,678, or 3.1 per cent. For freight the figures relate to the 28 weeks ended 11 tli July, and show an increase, compared with the corresponding period of 1935, of 6.138.509 tons, or 4.2 per cent.
