MAITAI BOWLING CLUB

TOURNAMENT ON LABOUR DAY A committee meeting of the Maitai Bowling Club was held at the Maitai green last evening when there were present: Mr J. Hurrell (in the chair), Messrs G. Piper, T. Johnston, A. J. Stringer, W. Martyn, H. J. Dodson, E. La Frentz, J. Thorp, and the secretary, Mr J. McMahon. It was decided to officially open the green next Saturday, 10th October, at 2 p.m. wet or fine and that play be limited to Saturday play only. A cordial invitation was extended to members of sister clubs.

An all day tournament is to be held on Labour Day, 26th October. A discussion took place as to whether a' two day tournament should be held, commencing on the Saturday, but it was decided to confine it to Labour Day. 26th October. The advisability of erecting a suitable pavilion was dismissed but it was decided that the matter be held over in the meantime.
