CITY AERODROME
FORMATION AT CHRISTCHURCH (United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH; sth October. A decision to commence the construction of a city aerodrome at Harewood as soon as possible was made at a special meeting of the city council to-night. The works committee was authorised to complete arrangements with the Government on the basis of the offer of a subsidy of £1 for £1 on the labour cost of the formation.
According to a statement made by the Mayor the total cost to the council will be about £30,000. In addition it is estimated that the Government subsidy will be £6700.
