T^j|pr RECUR I) ATTENI) ANCE (From Our Own Correspondent) A record attendance of members met in tlie Lodge room at the monthly business meeting 0 f the Loyal Takaka Lodge, it being a special summons meet--ing. N.G. Sister B. J. Haase was in the chair. An apology for absence was received from the V.G., and J’.G. Bro. M. E. Winter was appointed acting V.G. for the meeting. Other officers present included I.P.N.G. Bro. E. G. Hambrook, F. S. Bro. .M. V. Humphreys, E.S. Bro. R. Murray, Warden Bro. J. J. Curnow. J’.G. Bro. Nielson, of the Kaikoura Hearts of Oak Lodge was also in attendance. Proceeding with the summons business, finalising file medical situation as it affected the Lodge, the report of the committee set up to go into the matter was received and its recommendation was adopted: “That the Lodge maintain its present agreement only, hut that members he free to exercise their right of making other private arrangements for medical attendance if desired.” One new member was initiated at the meeting, Bros. A. and F. Page acting as conductors.

The secretary notified the Lodge that at tlie next business meeting officers of the Dominion Grand Lodge would bo visiting the Loyal Takaka Lodge; also officers and members from Lhe Nlotueka District Lodge and tlie Moutere, Nelson, and JMotuekn Lodges would he in attendance. A special effort is to lie put forth hv the Takaka Lodge for tlie occasion, it being decided that it he a special summoned meeting.

PAST GRANDS’ LODGE The animal meeting of tlie Takaka Branch of the Nelson-Motueka Past Grands’ Lodge was presided over by "Bro. J. E. Vaughan, District Grand Master. The vice-president, Bro. U. J. Bartlett, conferred tlie Past Vice-Grand Degree upon Sis. B. Haase, whilst tlie president conferred on Bro. F. G. Hambrook tlie Past Grand’s Degree. Tt was decided that the position of secretary be elective, and tlie following officers were then appointed : 1.P.1’., Bro. J. E. Vaughan; president, Bro. 11. ,T. Bartlett; vice-president, Bro. C. P. Reilly; sec., Bro. M. E. Winter; guardian, Bro. M. V. Humphreys; R.S.P., Sister B. C. Rose; R.S.V.P.. Bro. A. H. Rose; warden. Bro. W. Hanna; installing officer, Bro. F. J. Hambrook.

The following remit is to be forwarded to the annual conference: “That the final charge be revised and brought up-to-date, especially in regard to the insurance and medical clauses.''
