MOTOR SHIP RANGINUI
ARRIVAL AT AUCKLAND VOYAGE OF 105 DAYS (By Telegraph—Press Association) AUCKLAND, This Day. Having taken 105 days to travel 13,000 miles from Glasgow by way of the Mediterranean, the small motorship Ranginui, built on the Clyde to the order of Mr George Nicoll, of Auckland, for the coastal trade, arrived at Auckland this morning in charge of Captain A. H. Burgess, formerly of the Melanesian Mission yacht Southern Cross. It has a complement of ten men.
The Ranginui called at Gibraltar and Port Said and sheltered at Aden for a fortnight from monsoonal gales. She battled head winds in the Indian Ocean and called at Singapore and Townsville. She proved a good sea boat. Which trade she will enter will be decided by the owners on their return on Monday from Australia.
