FORTY-HOUR WEEK
SYDNEY COUNTY COUNCIL APPROVES

By three votes to two, the Sydney County Council approved of the principle of the 40-hour week throughout its service. It is estimated that this will provide employment for an extra 170 persons, at an extra cost of £44,500.
