TASMAN

W.D.F.U. SUCCESSFUL DANCE A very successful dance, arranged by the Tasman branch of the W.D.F.U., assisted by the Tasman Social Club, was held in Mr L. B. Robinson’s packing shed on Thursday. The shed looked very pretty the scheme of decoration being carried out in the colours of the organisation’s badge, streamers all radiating from a centre ring, this being the work of the president and a small committee. A dainty supper was provided by members of the branch, and was thoroughly enjoyed by a large and happy gathering. The funds of the branch benefited to the extent of £6 11s, £4 2s of this amount being realised by two cakes donated by Mr J. Homer, Tasman, and Goodman and-Co., Motueka, respectively. The Tasman branch, though a comparatively small and young brahch, has been fairly active lately, having taken part in the recent competitions with a half-hour entertainment and a play, both of which received quite good marks. MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting was held on the 16th and a very pleasant afternoon was spent by those present. The hostesses had provided a delightful afternon tea and they had also arranged a very interesting competition, of which Mrs A. James was the winner. The meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
