MAN FOUND DEAD

HEART FAILURE THE CAUSE The death occurred suddenly at his home, Kawai street, on Saturday evening, of Mr Archibald Simpson, aged 54 years. Deceased v/as seen to go out shortly after 8 o’clock and as he had not returned by 10 o’clock a search was made and he was found face downwards in the garden, alongside a small fire which he had lighted earlier. There were slight burns on deceased’s face.

At an inquest this morning conducted by the Coroner, Mr T. E. Maunsell, Dr. E. H. Clarke stated that the cause of death was heart failure, and the Coroner returned a verdict accordingly. ’ Deceased was a married man with ten children, and had been employed at the Nelson College grounds for many years.
