TOUR .OF INSPECTION
NEW RAIL-CAR USED ; (United Press Association) ; THAMES, 30th June.-; Continuing their tour of inspection in the new rail car. the Minister .of Railways (the Hon. D, G-. Sullivan) and the Genefal. Manager of Railways (Mr G. H. Mackley) arrived at Thames at noon to-day and left later for Rotorua. The .Minister was .welcomed at Thames by. Messrs... J. Thorn’, M.P., C. S. DoiioVa'n ’(on behalf 'oftlie bordirgli),) F. W.-'HetheringfoiL {Chamber of Commerce), H. Lowe (County Council and Harbour Board), and P. Jenson (local branch of the Labour Party). There was a ,kyg e crowd at the station. Replying to .the welcome, Mr Sullivan stated that the car stood'lip ' .id every test on the trip. It .was intended to place these cars on all suitable lines ip the Dominion to ;give the people this, most ■ comfortable - and efficient ■ service. .. .
