SMITH FAMILY
APPEAL FOR APPAREL Conditions for the unemployed have improved in that they are now being paid more wages for relief work. But most of them have had years of “going without” with the. result that clothing and house comforts have become woefully depleted. It is for these people and many others on whom the hand of depression has rested heavily, that the Smith Family makes an appeal. All citizens who live in comfort and have all they need, are asked to share with those in a less fortunate position. Part worn clothing—particularly warm clothing—footwear, bed coverings are wanted, and will be distributed by the women’s auxiliary of the Central Committee to needy people. The Smith Family will hold another Clothes Drive next Saturday afternoon. A call will be made to every house in the city and citizens are asked to have parcels ready for the collectors.
