On Mount Everest. —A view of Mount Pumori from the North Col of Mount Everest. It is on the North Col that camp 4of the Everest assault party is established. Owing to unfavourable snow conditions, camp 4 has been temporarily evacuated. The early arrival of the monsoon at the coast of Ceylon leaves the party a period of only about three weeks before the m onsoon reaches Everest, after which no climbing will be possible.
