—- THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. The annual conference of Education Boards will be opened by the Minister of Education, the lion. P. Fraser, who has submitted a number of matters on which he desires an opinion, including administration generally, with special reference to the functions of boards and other controlling bodies, the reorganisation of the system, and consolidation of the Act and Regulations. Other matters are schoolbooks, scholarships, householders’ meetings, milk supply, agricultural clubs, intermediate schools, manual training facilities, raising of the school age, simplification of the scheme of teachers’ salaries and other matters affecting the teachers, in. eluding the staffing of schools, school committee allowances, school consolidation, post-primary conveyance, accidents to children and teachers’ road risks and safety and what steps can be taken to obtain information about the means of dealing with children not receiving education.
