EMPIRE AIRPORT
BIG PORTSMOUTH SCHEME APPROVED BY COMMITTEE PRACTICALLY CERTAIN OF ADOPTION (British Official Wireless) (Received 21st May, 11.30 a.m.) RUGBY, 20th May. A scheme for a great Empire airport was approved by a committee of the Portsmouth Town Council, and is practically certain of adoption. It provides a combined land and marine base for Empire and transAtlantic air routes. Admiral of the Fleet Sir Roger Keyes (C.) recently predicted that Portsmouth would become the air hub of the world.
