Piri Piri Parasites from Chile. — Thirty thousand Chilian piri piri (bidi bidi) parasites in the cocoon stage are packed in sterilised earth in the boxes, shown in the picture- at_ the left, which constitute the first consignment to reach New Zealand. They were brought from Chile by Dr. David Miller, of Cawthron Institute Nelson. The picture at the right shows two of the insects eating the piri piri plant.
