ATHLETIC AND VICTORY DRAW 463 RUNS IN UNDER FOUR HOURS On Saturday afternoon at Trafalgar Park the Junior A championship match between Athletic and Victory resulted in a drawn game on the first innings. The result of tlm game would have been decisive had it commenced at the stipulated time of 2 o’clock. As it was, the captain of the Victory team had not arrived at 2.15, when the captain of the Athletic team and a player from Victory tossed the coin. Athletic winning and putting Victory in to bat. There followed another hold-up owing to Victory having no material to commence with and the game did not start until 2.30. For Victory, J. Du Feu and 0. Du Feu put on 150 runs for the second wicket. Both batsmen gave several chances, and 0. Du Feu was apparently caught out, but this was disallowed by the umpire. With four wickets down for 259,' Victory declared their innings closed shortly after 4.50 (J. Du Feu 78. Clark 18/ O. Du Feu 65, Holland 61 not out, Simister 13 not out). Bowling for Athletic: Mcßride two wickets for 104 runs, Young none for 24. Hockey none for 29, Hawthorn none for 33, Day two for 30, Stallard none for 13. The first wicket partnership fon Athletic betwedi Moore and Thompson realised 82 runs, and when stumps were drawn Athletic bad lost six wickets for 207 (Moore 57, Thompson 47.
