NEW ZEALAND RECORD BROKEN
V. P. BOOT’S SUCCESS (United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, 28th March. Running at the Canterbury College athletic trials for the Easter tourney, V. P. Boots made a successful attempt on the 1000 yards record, winning from scratch in 2.1.4 3-5, which is 3-ssec. less than the New Zealand record previously held by T. G. Broadway. Boot ran on a course with sharp bends. The surface was by no means good and was slightly heavy.
