OBSERVANCE OF MOURNING

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT MADE WISH OF KING AND QUEEN MARY (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copy r ight) LONDON. 31st January. It is officially announced from Buckingham Palace that at the wish of the King and Queen Mary public dinners and entertainments associated with the Government, trade, charity, and the arts should be hell as usual. Regiments with which a member of the Royal Family is connected may prefer to postpone their annual dinners until alter 21st July. This does not apply to other regimental events. The holding of other entertainments must be left to the discretion of the organisers, but it is suggested that where it is possible a few weeks might be allowed to elapse. Though no general public mourning was prescribed beyond the' date of the funeral, the continuance of the wearing of dark clothes is a matter for individual decision.
