BOURKE HOTEL FIRE
— NARROW ESCAPE OF OCCUPANTS DAMAGE ESTIMATED AT £IOOOO (United Press Association-By Electric Telegraph-Copyright) SYDNEY, 2nd February. A fire at the Central Australian Hotel at Bourke yesterday destroyed the entire premises and the contents, causing damage estimated at £IO,OOO. A number of guests and employees had a narrow escape from being trapped. One -woman was rescued from a balcony by means of a ladder which had to be rushed from tlie post office, 200 yards away.
