STAVISKY TRIAL
DECLARATION BY JURYMEN FURTHER ACTION DEMANDED (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright) PARIS, 29th January. The Stavisky trial jurymen have jointly written to M. Lebrun declaring that Stavisky could never have carried out his long and successful series of frauds without the negligence and complicity of certain public servants. “In our opinion some of the guilty have not yet been called to account while others have been unjustly punished, either by detention or administrative action.” they said. “Therefore we demand further action against the ‘real culprits’ and a review of administrative action taken against various officials. We also recommend a far more stringent state of control of all _ those holding and handling public savings.
