LONDON MURDER

EVIDENCE. AT INQUEST SIX BULLET WOUNDS IN BODY (United Press Association—By Eleetrio Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 30th January, 1.20 p.m.) LONDON, 29th January. Sir Bernard Spilsbury giving evidence at the inquest on Emil Allard said six bullet wounds were in the body. Others injuries on the face and head were consistent with blows during a light. The injuries on the body were possibly caused during a struggle.

A man who asked that his name be not disclosed said that Allard’s real name was Alax Hassel.

Tlie discovery of the bullet-riddled body of a scar-faced elderly man under a hedge outside St. Albans and subsequent. investigations indicated that traditional Chicago gangster methods had at last been adopted in England, possibly as the outcome of a race gang feud. Police believed that the victim was “taken for a ride” from a West End night club, “nut on the spot” in a motor ear, and dumped on the roadside. No revolver was found. It is believed that tlie victim, accompanied by a man and woman, called at a roadside cafe in the village of Londoneolony at midnight on 23rd January. The victim lived in a single room in St. James street, London. He arrived in England in 1933 and was an itinerant jewellery dealer. His only male friend saw him the night before the body was found. It is believed that he had £2OO worth of jewellery in his possession. '
