The following are the results of heats in the New Zealand junior and intermedia to swimming championships which concluded at the municipal baths last night. Results are as follows: 100 Yards Intermediate Boys’ Free Style.—First heat: A. Pascoo (Auckland), 1; T. Rogers (South Auckland), 2; W. Richards (Wellington), 3. Time, 62 1-Ssec. Second heat: S. IV. Jarvis (Otago), 1; S. Aratimu (South Auckland), 2; M. Oleary (Auckland), 3. Time, 59 2-ssec. Third heat: D. Davis (Southland), 1; H. Goldsmith (Auckland), 2; A. Sutherland (South Auckland). 3. Time, 60 3-ssec. Final: S. W. Jarvis, 1; A. Pascoe, 2: B. Davis, 3. Also started: T. Rogers, ,S. Aratimu and 11. Goldsmith. Won by four foot. Hunvorth (Southland), 1; M. Manning (South Canterbury)', 2. Time, 43 2-5. Final: : B. Hobson, 1; N. Manning, 2; D. Ilulworlh, 3. Also started: J. MacDonald and M, Brown, Won by 4ft, Time, 42 1-5, Junior Boys’ Dive.—B. Ingram (Otago). 1; J. Rigger (South Auckland), 2; J. Warrington (South Auckland), 3. Also competed: J. Cameron (Southland). With a margin of five points. Otago .retained the War Memorial Shield. South Auckland and Southland tied for second with three points, while Wanganui, Wellington and Canterbury each gained one point. TWO' RECORDS BROKEN Two further New Zealand records were established to-night. In a special attempt to lower her own national junior record over IGO yards Nawi Kera (South Auckland) despite frequent entanglements witli the lines, covered the distance in 66 l-ssec, a second better than her record-breaking swim of Saturday. A second record was broken when Islay Pnrdie, of Otago, reduced Edna Rainey’s 100 yards intermediate freestyle record from 65 l-ssec to 64 4-ssec. Miss S. Gotlieb (Wellington) challenged her strongly to take second place, but the favourite of the field, Miss Dorothy Symon (Southland) never lo'oked like a winner. A. Pascoo (Auckland) put in a great challenge in the final stages of the intermediate boys’ iOO yards, but S. W. Jarvis resisted the pressure to win by four feet with a great finishing burst.
