ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

VISIT OF COLONEL SLEEMAN NEXT WEEK Last evening a committee meeting of the executive of the St. John Ambulance Association and the Brigade was held Those present were Dr. D. C. Low, Pi esident (in the chair), Mrs Chaytor of the Wakefield Branch; Mrs Woolford and Mrs Rodley, Nelson Nursing Division; Mr Eyles, Nelson Ambulance Division; Mr S. C. Davis, Nelson Cadet Ambulance Division; and Mr R. A. Stedmau, secretary of the Nelson Sub-Centre. The meeting was called to make arrangements for the visit of Colonel J. L. Sleeman, C.M.G., C.8.E., M.V.0., M. J.P., (Knight of Justice of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem), the Chief Commissioner of the St. John Ambulance Brigade Overseas. Colonel Sleeman will be arriving by air from Blenheim on Wednesday 22rtd nst., companied by Mr F. W. Ward, Assistant Commissioner for New Zealand, am Mr C. Meachen, secretary of the Wellington Centre. They will be met at Tie aerodrome by a small committee an I at 7.30 p.m. Colonel Sleeman will inspect the Ambulance and Nursing Divisions in the Defence grounds or, if wet, in the Drill Hall. At' 8.15 p.m. Colonel S)e»man will give an address in the Marsden Library, Nile street, to members ol the Brigade and the Association and all those of the public who are interested.
