ACCIDENT TO RAILWAY EMPLOYEE (By Telegraph—Press Association' CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Slipping on part of a cattle stop made greasy by misty rain, Patrick O’Callaghan, railway employee at Springfield railway station, fell in fiont of a number of trucks which were being shunted in the yard this evening and the wheels of one truck passed over one of his legs just below the knee, and practically severed it.. O’Callagakan had been riding on one of the trucks while shunting and slipped off on to the board alongside the cattle stop. He failed - to gain a foothold and fell, one leg lying across the track. After medical attention on the spot he was brought to the Christchurch hospital.
