FATAL ACCIDENT

ELDERLY MAN CRUSHED (By Telegraph—Press Association) INVERCARGILL, 13th January. A fatal accident occurred this morning at the Linton coal mine. A full box of coal ran over the jigliead and severely crushed John McLeod, married, aged 00 years, who received a fractured right thigh and several broken ribs. He was taken in an ambulance from Ohai to the Southland hospital, but died at 5 o’clock this afternoon. An inquest will be held.
